In 2026, the next chapter is scheduled for release. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 appeared this week, offering a glimpse into the storyline but leaving fans curious how it will address the ending of Toy Story 4.

The preview reveals the young girl — who inherited the toy collection when he grew up — receiving a latest toy, one that terrifies Woody, Buzz, and the crew. Bonnie acquires her first tablet computer, and she is thrilled about it.

Presumably, the amphibian-inspired device will animate just like the rest of her playthings. Still, the characters appear to consider it as a threat coming to replace them, which it likely will.

The Cowboy's Comeback: Mysteries from Toy Story 4

One thing the teaser doesn't touch on is what the sheriff is returned with his companions in the child's bedroom. The finale of Toy Story 4 saw him set off on a new adventure with Bo Peep (the actress), traveling with a fair and assisting prize toys find good homes.

Surely, the filmmakers will explain the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the film. Seeing him show up in Bonnie's room without warning is somewhat puzzling, however. It also makes us wonder whether Bo Peep will have come back with Woody. And where is the stuntman toy (Keanu Reeves)?
